Oxygen Therapy
Oxygen therapy is the administration of oxygen as a therapeutic modality. Oxygen therapy benefits the patient by increasing the supply of oxygen to the lungs and thereby increasing the availability of oxygen to the body tissues. Respiro answers this need by providing the patient with the most appropriate oxygen system based on their lifestyle. Home and travel oxygen concentrators (using state-of-the-art “Quiet” technology), along with high pressure cylinders are provided according to the physician's prescription. In addition, Respiro will regularly monitor each patient to see how he/she is doing, how well the prescribed course of treatment is working, and to ensure patient compliance.
Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) Treatment
Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a sleep disorder characterized by pauses in breathing during sleep. Common symptoms include loud snoring, restless sleep, and sleepiness during the daytime. The most common form OSA Treatment is the use of a continuous airway pressure (CPAP) device, along with an interface system (nasal/fullface) which 'splints' the patient's airway open during sleep by means of a flow of pressurized air into the throat.
Nebulizer Therapy
A method of administering a drug in which it is dissolved in a solution, aerosolized, and then inhaled. In order to perform this activity patients must utilize a nebulizer machine. A nebulizer is powered by a compressed air machine and plugs into an electrical outlet or cigarette lighter that dissolves the prescribed drug into a solution and allows individuals to receive treatments away from home.
Respiratory Medication
Respiratory medications are used to maintain or dilate airways to improve air exchange in the human body. Used along with a Nebulizer Machine patients can begin receiving their prescribed medication efficiently and effectively. Respiro offers the following Respiratory Medications: Albuterol Ipratropium Albuterol/Ipratropium Brovana Performist Budesonide
Oximetry Testing
A test used to measure the percentage of hemoglobin (Hb) saturated with oxygen. This oxygen saturation is a measure of how much oxygen the blood is carrying as a percentage of the maximum it could carry. An oximetry test is performed simply by placing a special light clip on your finger, earlobe or toe that is attached to a pulse oximeter computerized unit. The pulse oximeter then monitors the oxygen saturation in the blood. A pulse oximetry test can be performed at rest, during activity or even during sleep and is non-invasive.
